HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS — Fatal Shooting at Stampede Night Club Leaves One Dead, Two Injured as Authorities Launch Investigation

HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A night meant for entertainment and celebration turned tragic when gunfire erupted outside a popular local venue. In the early hours of Sunday morning, deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of Stampede Night Club, located at 11925 Eastex Freeway. The incident left one person dead and two others injured, prompting a large-scale investigation as authorities work to piece together the events that led to the violence.

The shooting occurred sometime before dawn, shortly after clubgoers began leaving the venue following late-night festivities. According to preliminary reports from HCSO, deputies arrived on the scene to find three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds in the club’s parking lot. Emergency medical personnel were immediately dispatched, and while two victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, one individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the deceased victim has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. The conditions of the two surviving victims remain unknown, but authorities have confirmed that they sustained non-fatal injuries and are receiving care.

At this time, the motive behind the shooting is unclear, and investigators are exploring multiple leads, including the possibility of an altercation that escalated into gun violence. Witnesses at the scene have described hearing multiple gunshots followed by chaos as patrons ran for safety. Some vehicles were struck by stray bullets, and several partygoers reportedly took cover behind cars and nearby buildings as the situation unfolded.

A large portion of the parking lot has been cordoned off as a crime scene, with detectives, forensic units, and crime scene investigators scouring the area for shell casings, surveillance footage, and witness testimony. As of Sunday afternoon, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not confirmed whether they have a suspect or suspect vehicle.

Speaking to reporters, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez acknowledged the tragic nature of the incident:

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the individual who lost their life in this senseless act of violence. Our detectives are working diligently to uncover every detail of what occurred and bring those responsible to justice.”

He further urged anyone with information to come forward, stating that even seemingly minor details could play a critical role in advancing the investigation. The Sheriff’s Office is expected to release a tip line number for confidential reporting.

The incident has sparked concern among local residents and regular visitors of Stampede Night Club, a well-known establishment in the Houston nightlife scene that regularly hosts concerts, parties, and dance events. While the club itself has not been linked to the violence, the tragedy adds to a growing list of concerns over public safety in nightlife districts and the persistent issue of gun violence in community spaces.

Security presence at Stampede Night Club and neighboring establishments is expected to increase in the coming days, both to reassure the public and to assist in ongoing surveillance as authorities work to determine whether this was a targeted attack or a random altercation gone wrong.

Local advocacy groups, city leaders, and residents have begun speaking out in the wake of the shooting, calling for enhanced security measures, stricter enforcement of gun laws, and broader community-based initiatives to curb the rising tide of violence in the region.

As the investigation continues, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who was at or near the nightclub at the time of the incident—or who may have dashcam or cellphone video—to contact investigators directly or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Houston.

More updates will follow as additional information becomes available. For now, the Harris County community mourns another life lost to senseless violence and hopes for swift justice and healing for the victims and their families.
