DESTIN, FL β€” A powerful and emotional search is now underway in the coastal city of Destin, Florida, as the United Cajun Navy, joined by concerned citizens, boaters, and rescue experts, mobilizes to find 10-year-old Trinity, a child reported missing in the area.

The organization, known for its large-scale, volunteer-driven rescue efforts during natural disasters and missing person cases, announced a coordinated search operation beginning Tuesday at Joe’s Bayou Boat Launch, with a significant call for public support and resources.

🧭 URGENT CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS & BOATERS

The United Cajun Navy is requesting all available and qualified individuals to assist with the operation, especially those with marine search experience and properly equipped vessels.

βœ… Boaters:

  • Vessels must be equipped with:
    • VHF Marine Radio
    • Side-scan or down-scan sonar technology
  • All safety gear must be current and operational
  • Fuel up and be prepared for extended search hours

βœ… Everyone:

Bring:

  • Sunscreen & Sunglasses
  • Plenty of Water & Lunch
  • Binoculars
  • A spirit of teamwork, compassion, and vigilance

🚘 PARKING FEES WAIVED

To ease the process for volunteers, parking fees at Joe’s Bayou Boat Launch are waived for search participants. Just inform the staff you’re with the United Cajun Navy or Emerald Coast Unit upon arrival.

Please report to Kevin LaFond and the mobile command center β€œBlack Betty” at the boat ramp for coordination, equipment distribution, and area assignments.
