18-Year-Old Killed in Early Morning Selma Shooting – Break Out News

Selma, AL —An early Sunday morning shooting in Selma has left one young man dead and another person injured, prompting an active investigation by local authorities.

The Selma Police Department responded to a call just after 3:00 a.m. in the 2500 block of Summerfield Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male gunshot victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Anthony Marsh.

“This is a tragic incident involving young lives,” said Lt. Ray Blanks of the Selma Police Department. “Our officers immediately launched a detailed investigation upon arrival.”

In addition to Marsh, a second victim—a female—was also found at the scene with gunshot injuries. She was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, where she is currently reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities believe the shooting followed some form of altercation, though details remain unclear.

“At this time, we know there was some type of altercation,” Lt. Blanks stated. “We’re still actively working to determine exactly what led to the incident.”

Dallas County District Attorney Robert Turner, Jr. confirmed that two individuals have been detained for questioning. No formal charges have been filed as investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
