A Life Cut Short in South Louisville – Break Out News

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The community is mourning the tragic loss of 20-year-old Montez Brown, who died Tuesday night, July 1, 2025, after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Fern Valley Road and Shepherdsville Road in south Louisville.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Montez was walking in the area when he was hit. Louisville Metro Police responded swiftly and found him suffering from severe blunt-force trauma. He was transported to UofL Hospital in critical condition but, despite the efforts of medical teams, he succumbed to his injuries later that night.

The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators. At this time, LMPD’s Traffic Unit continues to investigate the incident, but officials have stated that no charges are expected to be filed.

Montez Brown’s sudden passing has left a deep void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him. Described as kind-hearted and full of potential, Montez had his whole future ahead of him. His death is a painful reminder of how fragile life can be, and his loved ones now face the heartbreaking task of saying goodbye far too soon.
