Fatal Collision on NC 150 at Medical Center Drive Claims Life of Maiden Man – Break Out News

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — July 5, 2025 — A tragic collision Saturday morning on NC Highway 150 at Medical Center Drive resulted in the death of a 22-year-old Maiden resident and prompted an investigation by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 10:15 a.m. and involved a 1992 Nissan 240 and a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. According to authorities, the Nissan, driven by Hunter Ray Tidmore of Maiden, attempted to make a left turn from a stop sign on Medical Center Drive onto NC 150. During the maneuver, Tidmore’s vehicle entered the path of the westbound Dodge Ram.

The driver of the Dodge, identified as 55-year-old Teddy Wilson Houser of Lincolnton, was unable to avoid the collision. Tidmore sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, where he later died. Houser suffered minor injuries and was treated at Atrium Health Lincolnton.

State troopers say that neither speed nor impairment appear to have contributed to the crash, and no charges are expected to be filed. The highway remained closed for approximately two hours as investigators worked to reconstruct the scene and clear the roadway.

The investigation is ongoing, but officials have emphasized that the crash appears to be a tragic accident.
