Fatal Shooting Claims Life of Jyisaiah Cuthrell in Lexington, North Carolina

On July 24, 2025, a tragic shooting in Lexington, North Carolina, claimed the life of 26-year-old Jyisaiah Cuthrell. The incident, now classified as a homicide, occurred in the early morning hours in the 200 block of Federal Street, prompting a swift response from local authorities.

Lexington Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene around 12:30 a.m. following a 911 call reporting gunfire. Upon arrival, they found Cuthrell on the front porch of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers provided immediate life-saving measures until Davidson County EMS arrived. Despite being rushed to Atrium Health Wake Forest Health Lexington Medical Center, Cuthrell succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation, led by the Lexington Police Department with support from detectives and crime scene investigators, has determined that the shooting was an isolated incident, posing no ongoing threat to the public. The Lexington Fire Department and Davidson County EMS also assisted at the scene.

A suspect, identified as 21-year-old Jarvis Lewis Carroll of Lexington, was arrested without incident at 225 Tucson Way in Davidson County. Carroll faces charges for the murder of Jyisaiah Cuthrell, with assistance from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office during the arrest.
