Granville Man’s Life Cut Short in Tragic Vermont Motorcycle Crash

WELLS, VT – A fatal motorcycle accident on Vermont Route 30 in the town of Wells has claimed the life of Ricky Chandler, a 40-year-old resident of Granville, New York, according to the Vermont State Police.

The incident occurred on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at approximately 3:35 p.m. Chandler was operating a 1994 Kawasaki motorcycle, traveling northbound on VT Route 30. At the same time, Joy Brewster, a 58-year-old woman from Wells, Vermont, was driving a 2023 Jeep Gladiator and attempting to turn left onto Route 30 from South Street. The motorcycle collided with the Jeep, resulting in significant injuries to Chandler.

Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene, and Chandler was transported to Glens Falls Hospital in New York for initial treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to Albany Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Brewster, the driver of the Jeep, sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local medical facility. Authorities have stated that no charges are currently pending against Brewster.

The Vermont State Police, assisted by local emergency services, are actively investigating the crash to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision. The roadway was reported to be dry at the time of the incident, and weather conditions are not believed to have been a factor.
