With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Dane Souza, a beloved husband, father, friend, and craftsman, whose legacy of love, strength, and creativity will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.
Dane was a gentle giant, known not just for his physical strength but for the size of his heart. He was always ready to help anyone in need, often without being asked—offering his time, talents, and wisdom freely. Whether under the hood of a race car or waist-deep in the ocean, Dane lived with purpose and passion.
He had a deep love for building and racing cars, a craft he not only mastered but eagerly shared with others. Dane also found peace in fishing, often making his own lures, and expressed his creativity through metalwork, tie-dye art, and countless other hands-on crafts. He was a man of many talents—intelligent, inventive, and always curious.
Above all, Dane was an amazing dad, a wonderful husband, and a loyal friend to many. His presence could light up a room, and his advice—always practical, often wise—was cherished by everyone around him.
In his later years, Dane endured more than most. Over the past 15 years, he faced tremendous health challenges, including nine strokes and numerous complications that left him bedridden. Despite the immense toll this took on him and his family, he fought with grace, patience, and dignity. The medical care Dane needed was significant, and many of the supplies and treatments were not covered by insurance, leaving the family to bear overwhelming costs.
As his loved ones grieve this loss, they invite the community to keep Dane in their prayers and help honor his life through a celebration of love and remembrance. Any support toward his family during this time—whether through prayer, sharing memories, or easing the financial burden—is deeply appreciated.
Dane’s spirit will live on in every engine rev, every cast line, and every handcrafted piece of art. He will never be forgotten.
