Jimmy spent most of his life in Holmes, Pennsylvania, before settling in Glenolden about five years ago, where he built a beautiful life with his beloved wife Sara and daughter Everley Rose, while eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second daughter, Abigale Mae, due in mid-August.

A proud graduate of Our Lady of Fatima School (Class of 2009) and Ridley High School (Class of 2013), Jimmy also attended The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College, where his love of food and cooking flourished. His passions were many—from cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, to immersing himself in Star Wars, John Wick movies, and all things action-packed. A true outdoorsman, Jimmy found joy in hunting, fishing, ATV riding, and horseback adventures, always calling the outdoors his happy place.

Beyond his hobbies, Jimmy had a heart for helping others. He was an active member of Friends – The National Association of Young People Who Stutter, where he mentored and inspired hundreds of young people across the country. His compassion, courage, and advocacy left a lasting mark on the lives of countless families.

Jimmy’s greatest joy was his family. He was the devoted husband of Sara C. McGinley Fortunato, proud father of Everley Rose and soon-to-arrive Abigale Mae, beloved son of James F. and Melissa Fortunato, and loving brother to Nick and Maddie Fortunato. He was the cherished grandson of Natalie McGillen, and is preceded in death by grandparents James F. McGillen, Catherine Fortunato, and James D. Fortunato.
