WELLSBORO, Pa. — With heavy hearts, the community of Wellsboro mourns the tragic loss of Jaylen Chad Hege, a vibrant 15-year-old whose life was cut far too short on July 9, 2025. Jaylen’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of family, friends, and all who had the joy of knowing them.
Jaylen is lovingly remembered by their parents, Nevin R. Hege and Julia K. Hege (Yoder), and their siblings Jared, Rylan, and Kayden. They are also deeply missed by grandparents Lester and Rachel Hege of Wellsboro and Steven Yoder of Alliance, Ohio. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and members of the wider community grieve alongside them.
Jaylen was preceded in death by their grandmother, Miriam Yoder, and beloved cousins Kenton Yoder and Jordan Martin, whose memories are cherished alongside Jaylen’s.
A visitation in honor of Jaylen’s life will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stony Fork Mennonite Church in Wellsboro. The funeral service will take place on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Jaylen’s name to Stony Fork Mennonite Church, a place that meant so much to them and their family.
Jaylen’s kind heart, gentle spirit, and warm presence will be forever remembered. As the Wellsboro community comes together to mourn this profound loss, they also celebrate the light Jaylen brought into their lives.
