The community of Wallingford and Oxford, Connecticut is mourning the tragic loss of Robert David Connolly Jr., a 24-year-old whose life was cut short in a fatal motorcycle accident on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
According to state police, the accident occurred at approximately 4:47 p.m. along Guntown Road in Oxford. Officers from the Oxford Police Department and Connecticut State Troopers responded to the area after Wallingford Police, who had been investigating a missing person case, traced Robert’s whereabouts.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a 2001 Honda motorcycle approximately 20 feet down an embankment off the southbound shoulder of Guntown Road, deep within a wooded area. Robert had been thrown from the motorcycle during the crash and tragically sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
Robert was a young man remembered for his energy, warmth, and the love he shared with family and friends. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew him.
As the community grieves this heartbreaking loss, support and condolences continue to pour in for the Connolly family. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing.
