Missouri Father Murdered After Refusing $12,000 Bribe in Child Sexual Abuse Case

In a tragic case out of Ferguson, Missouri, a father named Kcoree Warren was fatally shot after reporting the alleged sexual abuse of his teenage daughter. The suspect, Lavor Harmon, 39, faces charges related to the abuse, while his sister, Lavonda Harmon, 44, has been charged with attempting to bribe Warren to halt his cooperation with authorities.

Court documents reveal that the alleged abuse occurred in March 2025, when Lavor Harmon reportedly took the 15-year-old victim to a home and engaged in sexual activities. Warren, the victim’s father, reported the incident, leading to Harmon’s indictment in June on three counts of second-degree statutory sodomy and one count of second-degree statutory rape. His bond, initially set at $150,000, was increased to $2 million cash-only following recent developments.

In late May, before Harmon’s formal charges, his sister, Lavonda Harmon, a resident of Houston, Texas, allegedly visited Warren’s home alongside an unidentified man. They offered Warren $12,000 to refrain from assisting in the investigation, according to police. Warren rejected the bribe, determined to pursue justice for his daughter.

On July 8, 2025, tragedy struck when Warren was gunned down at his home in Ferguson. His daughter, the alleged victim, and another minor were present during the shooting. Witnesses reported seeing a white Kia fleeing the scene. Later that day, the suspected gunman was found dead, and the Kia was discovered burned in St. Louis, suggesting an attempt to cover up the crime.

Lavonda Harmon was arrested on July 11 and charged with one count of tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution. She has since been released after posting a $100,000 cash-only bond. Authorities believe the motive behind Warren’s murder was to silence him and prevent the case against Lavor Harmon from proceeding to court. The identity of the shooter remains undisclosed, and no additional arrests have been reported in connection with the homicide.

The investigation, led by the Ferguson Police Department and the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, continues as authorities work to uncover further details in this devastating case.
