MACOMB COUNTY, MI — A heartbreaking tragedy has left a family and community in mourning after 3-year-old Majd Baligh Alawdi died following a drowning incident at Lake St. Clair Metropark.
According to officials, the incident occurred while Majd was enjoying a day at the park with his family. At some point, he drifted away from the group and went underwater unnoticed. By the time his absence was realized and rescue efforts began, the situation had turned critical. Family members rushed to pull him from the water, and emergency crews quickly responded, performing life-saving measures and CPR as they transported him to the hospital.
Despite their heroic efforts, Majd was later pronounced dead at the hospital, leaving behind a heartbroken family and a stunned community grappling with the loss of such a young life.
His grieving father, Baligh Noman Naji Alawdi, shared Majd’s name and story with TCD News in hopes of honoring his son’s memory and reminding others of the fragility of life. The family has asked for prayers, love, and respect as they navigate this unimaginable pain.
