Tragic Shooting on Leonard Avenue Claims the Life of 56-Year-Old Woman

 

ALBANY, GA — A quiet summer evening turned tragic on July 3, 2025, when officers with the Albany Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 2400 block of Leonard Avenue. The call came in around 8:05 p.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 56-year-old woman, later identified as Patricia Duncan, lying unresponsive on the front porch of the residence. Despite efforts from first responders, Patricia was pronounced dead at the scene, the victim of an apparent gunshot wound.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances of the shooting, possible suspects, or a motive. The case remains an active and ongoing investigation, and officials are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in solving this heartbreaking crime.
