The Conroe Police Department has confirmed that 20-year-old Santiago Bettini died following a high-speed motorcycle crash, a sudden event that unfolded in a matter of terrifying seconds.
The incident occurred just before 12:30 p.m. in the 500 block of North Freeway. According to preliminary investigative details, Bettini was operating a Honda motorcycle and was traveling at a high rate of speed. Witness reports indicate he was weaving aggressively through traffic, a maneuver that would have tragic consequences.
In a fateful moment, the motorcycle clipped the rear of a Nissan Altima. The impact was catastrophic, ejecting the young rider from his bike. He then collided with a Texas Department of Transportation barrier truck that was stationed in the area.
