She Heard Her Husband Say ‘Light That B**** Up’ — Then Escaped a Burning Car

In a chilling act of betrayal and violence, 44-year-old Travis Davison of Memphis has been charged with attempted second-degree murder and reckless endangerment after allegedly orchestrating a plan to burn his wife alive inside her car.

The terrifying incident unfolded more than a week ago on South Second Street in downtown Memphis. The victim, seated inside her silver Chevrolet Camaro, noticed three vehicles—a silver SUV, a black BMW, and a gold sedan—pull up and park in front of her. What happened next was straight out of a nightmare.

Through her car’s Bluetooth system, the woman heard a loud conversation coming from the BMW. A male voice, unmistakably her husband’s, barked the command: “Light that b**** up!” Moments later, a man exited the silver SUV and began dousing her car with gasoline. A female voice was also heard, confirming to the man that the target was indeed the silver Camaro.

Realizing the imminent danger, the woman scrambled to escape, crawling through the passenger-side window. As she made eye contact with the man pouring gasoline, he showed no hesitation—he ignited the flames. Shockingly, the occupants of the other vehicles, who clearly saw her inside, did nothing to intervene.

Miraculously, she escaped unharmed.

The woman, married to Davison for nearly six years, told investigators she instantly recognized his voice through the car’s speaker. Her certainty, combined with the sequence of events, led authorities to arrest Davison, who is currently the only individual charged in connection with the case.

Neighbors who witnessed the fiery aftermath quickly called 911, and the investigation has since revealed a calculated and deeply disturbing attempt on the woman’s life. Davison now faces serious charges, including attempted second-degree murder and attempted reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

As the community reels from the horror of this attack, the victim’s courage and quick thinking stand as a powerful testament to survival against unimaginable odds.
