A fairgoer jumped in and helped to disarm two men with guns who were fighting at the Alaska State Fair in Anchorage.
Video from witnesses show the men fighting at the fair with no regard for bystanders. You can hear people yelling, “He’s strapped!” as 24-year-old Jaden Perry intervenes and wrestles a gun from one of the men.
He spoke about the experience in an interview with KTUU.
What they’re saying:
“The first thought that went through my head is there are kids everywhere,” Perry said.

“I didn’t think much during it, but afterwards I’m glad I did,” he recalled. “I would do it again every time. Last thing anybody needs to do is bury their child, take their kid to the hospital, or even a parent, they were everywhere.”
Perry said he saw at least eight different people fighting each other, but he only intervened with the one armed man.
“People need to be aware [that] things go wrong at any minute, no matter where you are,” Perry said. “It’s not okay for that to happen — at all. That should not have happened in the first place, but people do need to be aware that this is the thing that happens.
What we know:

Security staff at the fair also took action to stop the fights, but with so many fights happening at the same time, it was a chaotic and difficult situation, the spokesperson said.
What we don’t know:
It’s unclear whether the men involved in the fights were arrested.
