Manchester Flat Tragedy: Bright-Smiling 20-Year-Old Found Dead at City Centre Address

In the heart of Manchester, the vibrant life of 20-year-old Kadey Anglin was cut tragically short. Early the morning of Thursday, October 16, emergency services responded to a “concern for welfare” call at a flat on Grosvenor Street, just off Oxford Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered Kadey unresponsive. Paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed a file has been submitted to the Manchester Coroners’ Court and an inquest will be opened in due course. Investigations remain ongoing into the exact circumstances surrounding her death.

At the scene, three individuals were arrested in connection with alleged drug supply offences. They have since been released on bail as detectives continue inquiries. GMP have not yet confirmed whether these arrests are directly linked to Kadey’s death.

Kadey worked as a member of staff at the popular city-centre venue Gorilla. The venue’s management issued a heartfelt statement: “We can confirm that in the early hours of Thursday morning, a team member from our Gorilla venue tragically passed away in an apartment on Grosvenor Street. We do not have any detailed information as to what occurred at this time, and it would be inappropriate for us to comment further whilst there is an ongoing police investigation.”

Among the outpouring of grief, close friend Emily Walker paid tribute: “She was the funniest, craziest, coolest, most caring person that any of us will ever have the pleasure of knowing.” Kadey’s cheerful energy, quick laugh and capacity to light up a room will be deeply missed by friends and colleagues alike.

In the wake of her passing, the community that knew Kadey is grappling with shock and sorrow. She is remembered not only for her fun-loving nature but also for the genuine kindness she showed those around her—whether greeting you with a grin behind the bar or staying late to help a colleague. It is the loss of this everyday warmth that many are finding hardest to accept.

As GMP continue their investigation, the coroner’s involvement signals the seriousness with which the case is being treated. While the arrests over suspected drug offences may shed light on the environment surrounding the incident, the cause and full circumstances of Kadey’s death are not yet clear. As the family and friends await answers, what remains certain is that a young life ended far too soon—and that her absence leaves a silent void in the place she called home.

For now, Kadey’s story stands as a reminder of the fragility of tomorrow and the importance of holding fast to the laughter, the joy, and the connections that make life so meaningful.
