22-Year-Old Jordan Abuchon Killed in Early-Morning Fresno Shooting After Party Got Out of Hand

At around 3 a.m. Saturday, what began as a packed get-together in a Fresno apartment near Ninth Street and Olive Avenue ended in tragedy: 22-year-old Jordan Abuchon was shot and killed during a chaotic confrontation, according to Fresno Police.

Officers say they were called for a disturbance at the apartment, where a party had grown unruly and over capacity. As the host asked people to leave, things spiraled. As guests tried to exit into a shared hallway, a fight broke out. Abuchon was in the middle of it.

According to investigators, a 33-year-old man stepped in, attempting to separate Abuchon from the argument. That’s when gunfire erupted — both men were struck. Abuchon was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 33-year-old was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Right now, no arrests have been made, and investigators are still piecing together what exactly sparked the gunfire. Authorities say they don’t yet have a suspect description.

Friends and family are reeling. The loss of Jordan has left a hole in the community. Police are urging anyone with information — video, witness accounts, anything — to come forward and contact the Fresno Police Department.

This isn’t the first time Fresno has seen violence tied to parties late at night. Just a few months ago, a separate gathering in Northeast Fresno ended in gunfire that injured three teens. Authorities say that when social media-promoted parties explode in size, things can go very wrong fast.

For now, what started as a moment to celebrate has turned into heartbreak. Jordan’s death is a grim reminder of how quickly things can unravel — and how important it is for anyone who might know something to speak up.
