On Sunday evening, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) launched a homicide investigation after a woman’s body was discovered beneath a bridge on Blanding Boulevard. Family members have since confirmed the deceased is Tiffany Felton, sparking a wave of grief across her community.
According to authorities, the grim discovery occurred around 6:30 p.m., when a fisherman near the 3400 block of Blanding Boulevard spotted the body and called for help. Officers responded and found her beneath the bridge, though police have not publicly disclosed visible injuries or the cause of death.

JSO confirmed they are treating the case as a possible homicide, but emphasized that their investigation is still in the early stages. While initial reports from law enforcement indicated the woman was believed to be in her 20s, the family’s identification of her as Tiffany Felton gives the tragedy a more personal and painful dimension.
Felton’s family expressed their heartbreak publicly. In a Facebook post, they shared that she had joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 177 in Jacksonville earlier this year, and she had been deeply proud of that accomplishment. Those who knew her described her as driven, hardworking, and passionate about building a meaningful future — someone who believed not only in her own growth, but in lifting up those around her.
Friends and loved ones say her loss cuts especially deep because she had real momentum in her life. She wasn’t just building a career — she was building a legacy. Her union membership, her work ethic, her hopeful spirit: all of it made her someone people looked up to.
As the investigation continues, JSO is urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be shared by calling 904-630-0500, emailing [email protected], or submitting anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
For now, the community is holding its breath, hoping for justice for Tiffany — a talented young woman taken too soon, with so much left to build and so many lives she had already touched.
