Man Found Dead in Greensburg Woods Identified as 32-Year-Old from Malvern

The body of a 32-year-old man found on Wednesday in a wooded area of Green, Ohio has been identified as Sean Burleson of Malvern, Ohio, the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed on Friday.

According to the report, deputies with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office were notified at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Nov. 19 after Burleson’s remains were located in a wooded area off Mayfair Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the cause of death remains under investigation. Gary Guenther, chief investigator with the medical examiner’s office, cautioned that while the identification is complete, determining what led to his death will take additional time.

Officials stressed that there is no indication of foul play at this time, though the full investigation has yet to conclude.

Friends and family described Burleson as someone with a quiet presence and strong roots in the Malvern community. In a small town where everyone tends to know everyone else, the news of his passing has sent ripples of shock and sadness through those who knew him.

He had been reported missing around the time of his death, and authorities say locating his body in the dense woods was a difficult search. The terrain off Mayfair Road is heavily wooded and somewhat isolated, making the discovery more complicated than in more open areas.

As the medical examiner works to establish cause — whether natural, accidental or otherwise — loved ones are left grappling with unanswered questions and loss. The detective work now turns to toxicology reports, autopsy results, and tracing his final hours.

Memorial plans are still being discussed by his family. In the meantime, the community rallies quietly in his memory, sharing stories, offering support, and seeking closure.
