Portland Community in Shock After 14‑Year‑Old Marik Roscoe Fatally Shot

Sunday morning in Portland’s Powellhurst‑Gilbert neighborhood brought heartbreak: 14‑year‑old Marik Roscoe was fatally shot inside a home near Southeast 125th Avenue and Division Street, police confirmed in a press release. The Medical Examiner has ruled his death a homicide by gunshot wound.

It happened around 6:34 a.m. on November 16, when officers responded to reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds – and one more with a minor injury. Marik was taken to the hospital, but tragically did not survive.

Along with Marik, two other males were also shot: a 17‑year-old and a 42‑year-old, both expected to recover. A fourth, a 19-year-old male, suffered only minor injuries, according to the police.

No arrests have been made so far, and investigators say they do not believe this was a random act. Detectives from the Portland Police Homicide Unit are leading the inquiry, working to piece together what happened and why.

Authorities are urging anyone with information — however small — to step forward. You can send tips to [email protected], citing case number 25‑314623.
