Toledo, Ohio — The heart of this close-knit community aches with sorrow after the sudden loss of Sydney Boiselle, a vibrant young woman whose life ended following a devastating car accident. Sydney was known for her radiant personality — the kind that lit up a room the moment she walked in. Her infectious smile and generous spirit made her unforgettable to everyone she met, and more than a few people in Toledo have shared cherished photos and memories of her online.
Her journey in life was marked by passion and purpose. Sydney first began exploring the electrical trade during her time at Penta in 2016, and that path led her into her union work with IBEW Local 8. There she didn’t just take part — she volunteered, stood on picket lines, served as an officer, and fully committed herself to advocacy for her peers and the next generation.
In her role as a full-time apprenticeship instructor, Sydney found the work that truly matched her heart. Teaching wasn’t just a job for her — it was a mission. Countless young people saw her encouragement and believed in themselves because she saw something in them they didn’t yet see in themselves. Students and colleagues alike remember her patience, passion, and the pride she took in seeing others succeed.
After the crash, her family faced the most painful decisions with a strength that moved many. In a final act of love that reflects who Sydney was at her core, they chose to honor her wishes by making her an organ donor. Through that selfless choice, she will save up to eight lives — a legacy of hope that stands as a powerful testament to her generous spirit.
To honor Sydney’s incredible gift, a Hero Walk is planned at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. The date and time will be shared with the community once details are finalized. Until then, those closest to her are holding onto memories, stories, and the love she shared so freely.
