San Francisco — Victoria Jones, 34, believed to be the daughter of Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones, was found dead early Thursday morning inside the historic Fairmont San Francisco hotel. Emergency crews rushed to the luxury Nob Hill property just before 3 a.m. on New Year’s Day after staff reported a medical emergency, only to discover her unresponsive in a hallway.
Paramedics from the San Francisco Fire Department arrived at the scene at about 2:52 a.m., performed an assessment, and pronounced Jones dead on the spot. Within minutes, officers from the San Francisco Police Department took over the scene before the city’s Medical Examiner began a formal investigation. Authorities have not yet revealed a cause of death.

Police sources told news outlets that foul play is not suspected at this time, but the official identification of the body will only come after the Medical Examiner confirms her identity. Hotel management and the actor’s representatives have not publicly commented on the incident.
Born in 1991 to Tommy Lee Jones and his former wife Kimberlea Cloughley, Victoria grew up largely out of the spotlight. As a child, she appeared in a few film and television roles, including a small part alongside her father in Men in Black II and later in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. She also made a guest appearance on the TV drama One Tree Hill.
Friends and family described her as someone who had a brief brush with Hollywood before choosing a quieter life away from the camera. Though her early acting work connected her to the entertainment world, she largely stayed out of public view as an adult.
The Fairmont San Francisco, a landmark hotel known for its grand history atop Nob Hill, has played host to presidents, celebrities, and world leaders since its opening in the early 20th century. Thursday’s tragedy has stunned both local residents and visitors who knew Jones as a familiar yet private figure.
Authorities are asking anyone with relevant information about the case to contact the San Francisco Police Department as the investigation continues. Meanwhile, friends and colleagues of the Jones family are beginning to share memories and condolences as the city grapples with the sudden and heartbreaking loss of a life cut too short.
