Police rush to scene of ‘active shooter’ in Baltimore near a synagogue

Two police officers have been shot in what police described as an “active shooter incident” near a synagogue in Baltimore.

The officers were rushed to Shock Trauma with non-life-threatening injuries, WJLA reported.

The shooting was reported around 12:30 p.m. near the Agudath Israel of Baltimore synagogue. It was not immediately clear whether anyone at the synagogue was involved in the shooting.

Police said the suspect in the shooting was also shot.

Authorities were urging residents to avoid the area Tuesday afternoon.
