Beloved Chester Park-COLT Teacher and Volleyball Coach De’Harion Mobley Tragically Killed in Car Accident
It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected and tragic passing of Mr. De’Harion Mobley, a beloved teacher at Chester Park-COLT and the Varsity Head Volleyball Coach for the Lady Cyclones. Mr. Mobley lost his life in a devastating car accident, leaving behind a community that now mourns not only a leader and educator but a truly remarkable human being.
Words cannot fully express the grief felt by the students, staff, athletes, and families whose lives were touched by Coach Mobley’s presence. His impact on Chester Park-COLT and the broader school district was immeasurable. Known for his unwavering dedication, Coach Mobley poured his heart into his dual roles as a passionate teacher and an inspirational coach. Whether in the classroom or on the volleyball court, he was a guiding light — a mentor who believed in his students and athletes even when they didn’t believe in themselves.
Coach Mobley’s energy, empathy, and encouragement turned players into champions and students into believers. He was more than a teacher or coach; he was a role model, a motivator, a counselor, and a friend. His voice rang with passion, his actions were full of purpose, and his presence commanded respect — not by authority, but by love and example.
He led the Lady Cyclones Volleyball Team with unmatched passion and pride. Under his guidance, players not only improved their skills but also learned the values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. He celebrated their victories and stood by them in defeat, always reminding them that their worth extended far beyond the scoreboard.
The news of his sudden passing has left a profound emptiness within the Chester Park-COLT community. Students and colleagues remember him as a man who never failed to offer a kind word, a helping hand, or a moment of his time. His classroom was a safe space. His practices were full of energy and laughter. And his legacy — already vast — will continue to echo in every hallway, every gym, and every heart he touched.
Out of deep respect for Coach Mobley and in honor of his memory, all volleyball-related activities will be postponed for an indefinite period. This time will be used to grieve, reflect, and support one another as the community begins to heal.
We ask everyone to keep Coach Mobley’s family, friends, fellow staff members, students, and especially the Lady Cyclones Volleyball Team in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. The road ahead will be hard, but together, the community will find strength in unity, in memory, and in the example Coach Mobley set every single day.
Plans for a memorial service and opportunities to honor his life and contributions will be announced in the coming days.
Rest in power, Coach Mobley. Your legacy lives on through every life you touched. Your absence is deeply felt, but your spirit will forever remain in the heart of Chester Park-COLT.
