Tragic Crash on Highway 380 Claims Lives of Two Young Teens Near Decatur, TX
Decatur, Texas – A devastating early morning crash on Monday, June 16, 2025, has left two young lives tragically cut short and a community in mourning. At approximately 6:44 a.m., multiple emergency units responded to the scene of a fatal collision on Highway 380 near County Road 4011, just east of Decatur.
According to preliminary findings from the Texas Department of Public Safety and local authorities, a pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old girl attempted to cross Highway 380 from Private Road 4011 when it was struck by an oncoming 18-wheeler. The impact of the high-speed collision was so forceful that it caused the semi-truck to overturn.
The 16-year-old driver, whose identity has not yet been released publicly pending full family notification, was rushed by ambulance to a trauma center. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, she was later pronounced deceased due to the severe injuries sustained in the crash.
