Heartbreak in Rapides Parish: 13-Year-Old Kyndal Vidrine Tragically Killed in UTV Crash Near Oakdale

A profound sorrow has enveloped Oakdale and the greater Rapides Parish community with the tragic passing of 13-year-old Kyndal Vidrine, who was killed in a devastating utility terrain vehicle (UTV) accident in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 22, 2025, on West River Road, south of Highway 462  .

The Accident

At approximately 12:06 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to the scene of a fatal UTV crash involving two off-road vehicles. The driver of a Can-Am Outlander UTV, a juvenile, lost control of the vehicle, which exited the roadway and collided with a parked Honda Foreman UTV  . Both the driver and a passenger—Kyndal Vidrine—were ejected from the vehicle, along with the driver of the parked UTV. Kyndal suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead . The two other juveniles sustained minor injuries and are in stable condition.

Community Reaction & Investigation

Neighbors, friends, and family are left heartbroken by Kyndal’s sudden departure. Ongoing investigations, including toxicology tests, are conducted as authorities continue to explore the circumstances of the crash  .
