Brownsville, Texas, With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, the family and friends of Beatriz I. Castillo, age 31, announce her passing on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Valley Regional Medical Center, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her most. Beatriz, known lovingly as “Betty,” was a radiant soul — joyful, compassionate, and deeply rooted in love for her family, friends, community, and the world around her.
Born on September 12, 1993, in Brownsville, Texas, Beatriz lived her life with vibrant energy, boundless spirit, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. Whether she was helping her family, looking out for her neighbors, or speaking up for animals — Betty lived with heart. She had a rare ability to light up every space she entered, leaving behind laughter, harmony, and unforgettable memories.
A lover of soccer and basketball, she was often found cheering loudly for her favorite teams or passionately singing and dancing her way through life. Her spark was undeniable — joyful, fierce, and entirely her own. She lived every moment to the fullest, reminding us all of the beauty in the present and the strength of unconditional love.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving parents, Francisco Castillo and Virginia Morales; her devoted brothers, Ricardo Castillo and Miguel Castillo; and her precious niece, Angelica Ibarra. Her presence will forever be missed but never forgotten.
“Today, you are no longer physically with us, but your adventurous soul lives on in every life you touched. From wherever you are, we know you’re still jumping, singing, dancing, and laughing — doing what you loved most. We will continue to celebrate you always. Fly high, Betty. We love you today, tomorrow, and forever.”
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, with a Holy Rosary recited in her honor. The chapel will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, with interment to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Guillen Community Cemetery.
