Janesville Grieves the Loss of 14-Year-Old Kase Harry in Tragic Accident

JANESVILLE, WI — The Janesville community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kase Harry, a 14-year-old boy who tragically passed away in an accident on Monday, June 30, 2025. Kase was preparing to begin his freshman year at Craig High School this fall and was known for his kindness, curiosity, and love of football.

The School District of Janesville issued a heartfelt statement expressing its sorrow:

*“It is with deep sadness that we inform you that one of our up-and-coming 9th-grade students, Kase Harry, died in an accident earlier this week. We share the tremendous sadness that must be felt by Kase’s family and friends who are facing the reality of his death.

For those of you who knew Kase, we ask that you remember his curiosity, kindness, and genuine love of football. For those of you who did not know Kase, we ask that you respect our sadness and support us with your understanding.”*

Kase was more than a student—he was a teammate, a friend, a brother, and a son. Known for his bright smile and generous spirit, he brought energy and joy to those around him. His passion for football was matched only by the warmth he showed to others, both on and off the field.

Counselors have been made available at district schools to help students and staff cope with the emotional impact of Kase’s passing. The outpouring of support from the Janesville community speaks to the impact Kase had in his short time.

As the community comes together in shared grief, plans for a memorial or celebration of life are expected to be announced in the coming days. The Harry family has asked for privacy as they navigate this unimaginable loss, and they are grateful for the continued love and support.

Kase Harry’s memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and lives he touched in his 14 years. He will never be forgotten.
