GBI Launches Investigation – Break Out News

REMERTON, Ga. — A 16-year-old boy was tragically killed in a shooting early Saturday morning, prompting an active investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Remerton Police Department.

Authorities say officers responded to a report of gunfire around 12:30 a.m. on July 5 in the 1900 block of Baytree Place. Upon arrival, police discovered the teenage victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency services quickly transported him to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts to save his life, he was later pronounced dead.

According to the GBI, a large crowd had gathered in the area at the time of the shooting. Investigators are working to determine the sequence of events that led to the violence. At this stage, no suspects have been identified, and a motive has not been publicly disclosed.

Law enforcement is urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue to piece together what happened during the fatal incident.
