TOLEDO, OH – A devastating crash on Friday evening, July 4, claimed the life of a 22-year-old man and left two others injured, according to the Toledo Police Department (TPD). The collision occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Airport Highway, near Angola Road.
Authorities report that a 67-year-old driver traveling westbound on Airport Highway crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a vehicle driven by Alex Leonel, a 22-year-old resident of Toledo.
The impact of the crash was severe. Leonel was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. His sudden and tragic passing has shaken the Toledo community, where he was known as a young man full of potential and life.
