The city of Everett, Washington is heartbroken as it comes to terms with the unexpected and devastating loss of Kerry Love, who passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 6, 2025. His sudden passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew him—a grief that stretches from his beloved family to his extended community and Purple football family, who cherished him deeply.
Kerry was more than a teammate, friend, or coach—he was a giant in spirit as much as in stature, with a heart as big as his presence. Known for his deep, bellowing voice that greeted many with a warm, “What’s up, Coach,” and his signature welcoming smile, Kerry had a way of making everyone feel seen, heard, and supported.
He was lovingly described as a “big teddy bear”—gentle, kind, and dependable, yet fiercely loyal and protective. A founding spirit of PWP4Life, a brotherhood and bond that began in 2018, Kerry lived out that message of purpose, will, and pride both on and off the field.
“We lost one of our Purple football family members,” a friend shared. “We are just beyond ourselves as we navigate this new reality. Please keep us in your prayers—we really could use them right now.”
As the community grieves this unimaginable loss, our hearts go especially out to Kelly Love and the children, who now face the days ahead without their rock. In times like these, the power of community means everything. Let us come together not only in remembrance, but in support—with prayers, gestures of love, or simply a community-wide embrace for the Love family.
Rest in peace, Kerry Love.
Your impact, your laughter, your strength, and your kindness will echo in the hearts of many forever.
You will never be forgotten. 🕊️💜 #PWP4Life
