Pensacola Man Charged with Homicide After Dispute Over Broken TV Turns Deadly – Break Out News

Escambia County, FL — A tragic and senseless act of violence unfolded on Saturday afternoon in Pensacola, leading to the death of a man and the arrest of his son. Oneal Robert Matthew Thompson, 27, has been charged with homicide after allegedly shooting his father during an argument over a broken television.

The incident occurred around 1:18 p.m. near Lakewood Road and Alba Plena Street, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO). What began as a domestic dispute quickly escalated into a fatal confrontation when Thompson allegedly produced a firearm during the argument and shot his father.

Authorities report that a third individual attempted to intervene in the dispute, but was unable to de-escalate the situation before the gun was fired. Emergency medical services responded to the scene, but the father, whose name has not yet been officially released, succumbed to his injuries.

Thompson was taken into custody at the scene and is currently being held without bond at the Escambia County Jail.
