Remembering Raquan Wilson, 34, Tragically Killed in Downtown Wilmington Shooting – Break Out News

WILMINGTON, N.C. – A sense of sorrow and disbelief now hangs over Wilmington as the community mourns the tragic and untimely death of 34-year-old Raquan Wilson, who was fatally shot in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 6, 2025.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers were dispatched shortly before dawn to the 100 block of North Front Street following reports of multiple gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered Raquan suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid before he was transported to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Raquan Wilson sadly succumbed to his injuries. His death has been officially ruled a homicide, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Raquan was more than just a name in a headline—he was a son, a friend, a neighbor, and a part of Wilmington’s vibrant fabric. Those who knew him describe him as someone who carried both strength and kindness, a man with a big heart and a deep love for his community.
