Born on February 9, 1944, in Lagrange, Tennessee, W\.G. was the cherished son of William G. Capshaw, Sr., and Mary Lou Gatewood Capshaw. His formative years were spent in the Rogers Springs community, where he embraced a lifestyle centered on integrity, hard work, and perseverance. Those early experiences shaped the principles that guided his path both personally and professionally.
W\.G. graduated proudly from Middleton High School, later earning his degree from Memphis State University. His education laid the foundation for a life committed to service and achievement. He answered his nation’s call by serving honorably as a veteran of the United States Army, a role he carried with humility and pride throughout his life.
Following his military service, W\.G. embarked on a career in Memphis, dedicating over thirty years to government and commercial vehicle fleet sales and leasing. Beyond his business pursuits, W\.G.’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-own a restaurant, where he combined his love of good food and community connection.
