Disturbing Discovery at Victorville Gas Station: Teddy Bear Wrapped in Suspected Human Skin

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, a chilling discovery was made outside an ARCO/AMPM gas station in the 13600 block of Bear Valley Road in Victorville, California, prompting a swift response from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. At approximately 12:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched following a call reporting an object that appeared to be human remains near the store’s entrance. The object in question was a teddy bear, reportedly wrapped in material resembling human skin, sparking widespread concern and speculation.

Deputies arrived promptly at the scene, securing the area with yellow crime scene tape to preserve potential evidence. Homicide detectives and coroner investigators were called to assist in examining the unsettling find. Witnesses described the teddy bear as having a face-like piece sewn onto its head, with skin-like material crudely stitched across its body, heightening the disturbing nature of the discovery.

As of the latest updates, authorities have not confirmed whether the material is indeed human skin, as forensic analysis is still underway. However, an intriguing development emerged when an artist claimed the teddy bear might be one of their creations, designed to mimic human skin as a grotesque art piece. Despite this claim, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, through spokesperson Mara Rodriguez, has stated that the investigation remains active, with coroner officials working to determine the true nature of the material.

The gas station was temporarily closed during the initial investigation but reopened to the public by 2:15 p.m. on the same day. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Deputy C. Lajuj at 760-552-6800 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at 760-956-5001. The Victorville community remains on edge as investigators work to uncover whether this was a macabre prank or something far more sinister.
