Suspect Identified in Fatal Stabbing at Southeast Portland Home

Portland police have identified 28-year-old Juan Jose Olguin as the suspect in a fatal stabbing that occurred at a residence in Southeast Portland on Sunday afternoon. Olguin, a Portland resident, was arrested shortly after the incident and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

The incident took place around 3:19 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025, when officers responded to reports of a stabbing at a home in the 11400 block of Southeast Boise Street. Upon arrival, police discovered a man deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Approximately 40 minutes after the initial report, authorities contacted Olguin by phone and subsequently took him into custody. According to the Portland Police Bureau, no additional suspects are being sought in connection with the incident. Details surrounding the circumstances of the stabbing remain limited, as the investigation is ongoing.
