Gaffney Police Department Issues Arrest Warrants for Anthony Lee Jefferies Jr. in Fatal Shooting

The Gaffney Police Department has issued arrest warrants for Anthony Lee Jefferies Jr., 35, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday, July 13, 2025, on West Birnie Street in Gaffney, South Carolina. Jefferies is wanted for murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime following the death of Joshua Wood, 46, who was found shot at a nightclub on West Birnie Street.

According to authorities, the incident occurred in the early morning hours of July 13, 2025, following an argument at the nightclub. Officers responded to the scene around 1:58 a.m. after reports of a shooting. Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Wood, who had been shot multiple times, succumbed to his injuries during surgery at a local hospital.

Investigators gathered evidence, including surveillance footage and witness statements, which established probable cause to name Jefferies as the primary suspect.
