Serious Injury in Fremont County Tractor Accident Leads to OWI Arrest

On Friday, July 18, 2025, a serious accident involving a tractor in Farragut, Iowa, left one person injured and resulted in the arrest of the tractor’s driver. According to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene just before 5:30 p.m. following reports of a pedestrian being struck.

At the scene, authorities determined that a 56-year-old man was injured while working on a tractor. The tractor, operated by 39-year-old Kyle Glen Hale of Shenandoah, Iowa, struck the victim, causing serious injuries. The vehicle then crossed an alley and collided with a fence. The injured man was promptly airlifted to a hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, for treatment.

Following an investigation at the scene, deputies arrested Hale for operating while intoxicated (OWI), second offense. He was later released on bond, with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office noting that additional charges may be filed as the investigation progresses.
