EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — A quiet Sunday afternoon turned tragic when a devastating two-car collision claimed the life of Steven Diamond, 55, of Farmingdale, sending shockwaves through the local community and leaving loved ones grappling with grief.

The crash occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Carman Avenue and Salisbury Park Drive, a typically calm stretch of road in East Meadow. According to Nassau County police, a 40-year-old woman driving a 2012 Nissan Maxima was heading northbound when she collided with a 2024 Nissan Altima traveling westbound. The Altima was driven by a 57-year-old woman and carried two passengers: Steven Diamond and a 56-year-old woman.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly, but despite their efforts, Diamond was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe trauma. The other three individuals involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment.
