North Carolina man accused of bigamy after marrying 3 women

A North Carolina man has been accused of marrying three different women for financial and personal gain.

The backstory:

The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said they launched a criminal investigation back in April into Harry Irvine Burdick Jr. after a report was filed. 

Detectives learned that Burdick had three marriage licenses in Lincoln, Davidson, and Guilford counties. 

Investigators said they could not locate divorce proceedings involving his first wife.

Last week, Burdick was arrested and charged with two counts of felony bigamy.

What’s next:

He’s scheduled to make his first court appearance later this month.

Authorities believe there may be additional victims in the case and urge anyone who has been legally married to Burdick without a divorce to contact Detective Foushee at the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office at (336) 236-3365.
